We were proud to host Author Lee C Dunn for a discussion of her book “Cracking the Solid South: The Life of John Fletcher Hanson, Father of Georgia Tech”. Lee gave a great review of her research into this fascinating man and her personal connection to his legacy.

After the speech, chapter business was discussed with reports from the officers. Compatriot Decker proposed the formation of an Events Committee to coordinate our involvement in SAR events and ensure recognition. The motion was passed and Comp. Decker was appointed chairman. The committee will develop a charter for final approval.
President Page reminded members that Nov 21st at 5pm, the Chapter will be sponsoring a proclamation at the Forsyth County Commissioner’s Meeting to honor our veterans. The meeting begins at 5pm at the Count Admin Building.
A motion was passed to donate $500 to the Shadow Warrior Foundation to support their efforts to combat veteran homelessness. The December meeting will feature an appeal to members to donate to the charity so please bring your donations. A check presentation is being planned, be on the lookout for times.
